Every year we start thousands of seeds. But we have a secret…. we start them in our dining room! It has been the best decision ever! Rather than heating a greenhouse during the coldest time of the year, we use our home, which already has the heat on. Given the cost of fuel these days, this is the best option based on our available resources. 

This type of “out of the box” thinking is one of my favorite aspects about farming overall. Using our resources wisely helps us to keep costs low and minimize our carbon footprint.

These are not your grocery store tulips… this year we are growing 24 unique varieties! We will have tulips of all different colors and types, including double peony types, parrots and fringe varieties. The colors and types will change every week as new flowers open and bloom.  

If you would like to have these tulips on your table starting next month, our Tulip Shares start April 21st and can be purchased through May 12th. Each share provides you with a bucket of 15-20 tulips each week for four consecutive weeks.
